Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
The backbone of Graceland Vineyards, is in the famed ‘golden triangle’, where Cabernet is made so successfully.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
2020 Notes:
The grapes were harvested from vineyards planted in 2000 and 2012/13 with an elevation of between 100m-130m.
The soil is comprised of brown and red gravel, due to its high mineral content and lies above decomposed granite, with a depth of 2 meters before reaching clay. The vine's many seasons of high-quality results ensure consistency.
The grapes, handpicked during the 3rd& 4th week of March, were wild yeast fermented for 8 days in open-top cement tanks. The mid-fermentation temperatures didn’t exceed 28°c. Thereafter matured in French oak for 18 months, with 25% being new oak. The wine was bottled unfiltered and unfined.
A blend from three blocks of varying age. On the nose, hints of dark cherries, blackberries, anise and dark fruit. Mouthfeel is full with a long, lingering and opulent finish.
